South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha has done it again! This time around, she bagged the Best African Actress award at the prestigious Septimius Awards 2024 for her stellar role in Shaka Ilembe. This award was the icing on the cake for a year filled with remarkable achievements.
Nomzamo took to social media to share her overwhelming gratitude. In a touching Instagram post, she expressed her thanks to the brands, creatives, and individuals who played a part in her success.

Her gratitude note read: “Coming back home with a little extra weight in my luggage 🏆 God’s dream for my life is pretty cool to witness. Thankful for the spirit of surrender and hard work: to trust in the journey and believe in the kept promises. Thank you to Indlovukazi Unandi, Usontanti… ngokungipha amandla. Nomzamo also gave a shoutout to her directors, language coach Thobani, and the entire cast and crew of 200 creatives on set, showing us all how teamwork makes the dream work.
“Thank you to my directors and language coach Thobani- to the entire cast and crew of 200 creatives on our set (love you guys)… you make me better… and the hundreds of our background actors who help us create magic on screen… thank you to every single person who has watched our show @shakailembe_mzansi and encouraged us/me along the way,” she wrote.
She didn’t forget to mention her family and friends who support her unconditionally. “A special thank you to my friends and family- who allow me the space to be in a cocoon when I’m creating and who hold my hand when I doubt myself,” added the star. Clearly, the love and support from her inner circle play a huge role in her incredible journey.
