Cassper Nyovest’s Cover Of ‘Harambe’ left Everyone Speechless

Global Citizens Historic #OneWorld Together at Home Covid-19 relief concert on Saturday was amazing, but the most memorable performance would have to be Cassper Nyovesy’s cover of the late HHP’s track Harambe that touched Mzansi’s hearts.

The show was dedicated to health care works who risk their lives everday, fighting the pandemic globally and the World Health Organisations Covid-19 Solidarity Response fund, aired on Saturday night and featured amazing entertainers from across the globe, including Sam Smith, John Legend, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez just to name a few.

South African’s very own Black Coffee, Cassper and Sho Madjozi also represented Mzansi very well.

Cassper had initially prepared two performances and for the virtual concert, a cover of Harambee and his track Malome. But due to time constraints he was only able to perform Malome.

Taking to Twitter after the virtual concert, Nyovest shared a snippet of his Harambe cover, which went viral.

Cass said he felt the song was relevant in this time and era , especially with the pandemic affecting the whole world.

“I wanted them to show this performance instead of Malome because the message in this song is so important and fitting. RIP to Jabba! Love you forever! Here’s a snippet,” he captioned the performance.

Other South African national treasures Sho Madjozi and DJ Black Coffee gave the world a dose of awesomeness with their performances. Sho Madjozi rocked her colourful hair and outfit and gave a breathtaking performance. DJ Black Coffee showed the world why he’s one of the best DJ’s in the world.
