Less than a week after teasing new music, the self-proclaimed GQOM queen, Babes Wodumo, has made a heartfelt announcement that she will be releasing both her album and her late husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo’s album posthumously.
Tragically, Mampintsha passed away on December 24 following a stroke. Despite facing challenges in their relationship, Babes and Mampintsha were inseparable and eventually tied the knot, blessed with a baby boy.

On her Instagram timeline, Babes shared precious memories of her time with her husband and child while playing the song “Ngithethelele,” which she revealed was the last song they recorded together.
“We had already finished recording both our albums, but we held off releasing them to let Big Nuz release their album first. When we were finally done, out of the blue, you asked to make one more song together. Little did I know it would be our final collaboration. Mampintsha’s last prayer, ‘Ngithethelele,’ #AlbumsComingSoon,” she wrote.
The announcement received a warm reception from her followers:
“I’ve watched this so many times. Thank you for continuing to share ‘Uthando Lodumo’ with us. May your husband’s soul rest in perfect peace. Now release ‘Mabheshingo.’ We love you, Babes,” commented one follower.
“One thing about Shimora is that he loved his family. Gone too soon,” commented another.
Currently mourning her husband’s death, Babes Wodumo spent her first Valentine’s Day without him, visiting his gravesite. Sharing her emotions, she posted:
“Wow, after so many years, this is the first Valentine’s Day without you, my love. While others celebrate with their loved ones, being here today sets it apart for me. I will forever cherish the days we shared together. Ngyazi ujabulile ukungbona.”
Back in January, just weeks after her husband’s burial, Babes shared a Bible verse he had recited to her when they first met:
