
Singer and songwriter Ami Faku recently won Female Artist of the year at this year’s 26th SAMA awards for her first album Imali. The singer from the Eastern Cape first got her shot to fame when she was a contestant on the music show The Voice.

Ami was also nominated for the newcomer of the year award and during the week her fans made it clear that they were not pleased that she had not won the award. As much as Ami’s fans were in distraught about her not bagging the newcomer award, clearly the universe had bigger things planned for Ami.

The Into ingawe hitmaker recently went double platinum for the song, Ami was also awarded a gold status for her hit single inde lendlela. Ami has made a name for herself and dominated the music industry in just a short period of time. The sing bird was nominated for a whopping four awards and although she did not win all four we’re super proud of her.
