The divorce battle between Lebo M, the renowned composer of The Lion King, and his estranged wife, Pretty Samuels, has taken a turn for the worse.
According to reports, Samuels has presented a list of financial demands to the Johannesburg High Court, escalating the already messy situation.
One of Samuels’ demands is a staggering R150,000 in monthly spousal maintenance. This amount allegedly includes R23,000 for a car instalment, R5,000 for a cellphone, R35,000 for rent or bond, R10,000 per month for a holiday allowance, and R6,500 for groceries. It seems Samuels is not holding back when it comes to her financial expectations.
In addition to the spousal maintenance, Samuels is also seeking a division of the couple’s estate. This includes a property worth R5.5 million in Pearls of Umhlanga and another property valued at R1.8 million in Cedar Acres, Sandton.
On top of that, she is demanding R2 million from Lebo M to cover her legal costs for their pending divorce. It seems Samuels is determined to get her fair share.
Interestingly, Samuels denies that Lebo M is divorcing her. In an interview with Zimoja, she claimed to be unaware of any separation or divorce proceedings, stating that she is busy running errands with the kids.
However, it’s worth noting that the couple does not have any children together. It seems there is some confusion surrounding their current relationship status.
Adding more drama to the already messy situation, Lebo M claimed to have found muthi (traditional medicine) hidden in Samuels’ closet. He stated that they were packing her belongings when they stumbled upon the items.

In the midst of this divorce battle, it’s clear that emotions are running high and both parties are seeking what they believe is rightfully theirs.
As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how this messy situation will unfold. One thing is for sure, though – the divorce battle between Lebo M and Pretty Samuels is far from over.
