After being abruptly dropped by Metro FM last month, Mo Flava, real name Moeti Tsiki, wasted no time in finding a new broadcasting home.
Mo Flava will begin hosting 947’s weekday mid-morning show on April 3rd. Following eight years on Metro FM, the veteran radio host will take over for Msizi James at the Sandton-based radio station.
Mo took to Twitter earlier this month to remind listeners to check in to his Metro FM show, Wake Up, “Good morning! Hope you’re ready for the day ahead. Today will be my last show on Metro FM,” adding that he didn’t know what his last show was supposed to sound like.
Metro FM in a statement revealed that they had a mutual agreement with MO Flava before parting ways with him.
“I am looking forward to exploring the new opportunities I have lined up in radio where I will continue to express my talent. I am also excited about TV opportunities on the horizon,” Mo wrote at the time.
Commenting on his new job at 947, Mo wrote, “I can’t wait to meet the listeners and the 947 team. This is an opportunity for me to do radio at the highest level.” he said.
Meanwhile, the station manager Ravi Naidoo said Mo’s experience and style make him the perfect fit for the team, “We look forward to the unique flavour as the station continues to refresh to remain relevant and relatable for our listeners,” he said.
Pearl Modiadie is another well-known media figure that will be joining the 947 stations. On February 1, the radio station hired the much-loved and legendary sportscaster Robert Marawa.
