Former generations’ actress and bona fide traditional healer, Letoya Makhene, recently found herself in a real-life soap opera on Moja Love’s reality show, ‘Fake Gobela.’ This show aims to uncover fake traditional healers and expose the injustices faced by initiates.
In a jaw-dropping episode, Letoya was dragged into the spotlight by her former initiate, Kabelo Mpongo, who demanded a refund, stirring quite the cauldron of controversy.

According to IOL, Kabelo claimed that Letoya owed him R2,8k because she supposedly didn’t help him complete his traditional healing journey. But Letoya wasn’t having any of it.
She defended herself by stating that the initial fee for training initiates was actually R10k. Due to Kabelo’s financial constraints, she had even offered to help him out of goodwill. But, alas, drama always finds a way!
Once the episode hit the airwaves, X (formerly known as Twitter) users were quick to chime in. Many supported Letoya, asserting that she wasn’t a fake gobela and suspected Kabelo was under the influence of Letoya’s ex-wife, Lebo Keswa.

Lebo, who hasn’t held back from making shady claims, suggested that Letoya herself never completed her journey as a healer and alleged abusive behaviour during their marriage. This sure ain’t your average drama, am I right?
It seems like every corner of Letoya’s life is up for discussion right now, thanks to ‘Fake Gobela’. But one thing’s for sure – she’s clearly got a thick skin and isn’t afraid to defend her reputation.
Whether Kabelo was genuinely aggrieved or a pawn in a bigger game, only time will tell. Hang tight, bafethu; it looks like this saga is far from over!
