Big Zulu should be regretting his decision to let his protégé Lwah Ndlunkulu collaborate with Mthandeni “Igcokama Elisha” Manqele for free on their hit song “Paris”.

According to Sunday World, Big Zulu admitted that there was no formal agreement between him and Manqele when he asked Lwah Ndlunkulu to feature in the song. Little did he know that the song would blow up and become a massive success.

“Paris” reached platinum status, with over 10 million YouTube views and 5 million streams on Spotify. Despite its success, Big Zulu revealed that he has not received a cent from Manqele for the hit song. It seems that the runaway success of the collaboration has caused a rift between Manqele and Lwah Ndlunkulu, as he is now reluctant to work with her again.

Big Zulu defended Lwah Ndlunkulu’s absence at the Paris Song of The Year celebration event, explaining that she was unable to attend due to communication issues with Manqele.

Fans were left disappointed, as they eagerly anticipated seeing the two singers perform the hit song live. However, Lwah Ndlunkulu clarified on social media that she couldn’t simply show up to an event for free, as there are protocols to be observed as an artist signed under Nkabi Records.

While Big Zulu may be frustrated with the situation, he remains supportive of Lwah Ndlunkulu’s success and acknowledges the hard work put in behind the scenes at Nkabi Records.

Sometimes, artists do each other favours for the sake of brotherhood and unity, even if it doesn’t always lead to financial gain.

In the end, the collaboration between Lwah Ndlunkulu and Mthandeni Manqele on “Paris” serves as a reminder that success can come unexpectedly, and artists must navigate the complexities of the music industry with both talent and business acumen.
