When we think of great bosses, Anele Mdoda is definitely top of mind for many South Africans. Not only is she a media powerhouse, but she’s a total gem when it comes to treating her staff right.
Just recently, she made headlines by revealing that none of her employees pay for transport. Yup, you heard that right! That’s a game changer in the workplace.

Generosity in Action
Anele’s been vocal about how much she values her team, tweeting about their hard work and how unfair it is for workers, like waiters, to struggle just to get to work.
She called for the government to step in and subsidize transport, but in her own little world, she’s already doing that. It’s heartwarming to see someone truly care about their staff’s well-being, especially when they live far from the office.
“Nothing breaks my heart more than when a waiter asks for his tip to be in cash so he can have transport money to go to and from work. Smart people, isn’t there a way where government subsidies transport for the work force in our country. I tell you if transport was close to free we would be able to free up more spend for bread winners.

Perks That Make You Go Wow!
But wait, there’s more! Last year, she took her domestic helper on a holiday across Europe, and in 2017, she bought her staff member a swanky Audi A3 worth over R300k! Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.
And don’t forget the fully-paid month off during the festivDDe season. Can we get an amen? It’s clear why so many admire Anele; she’s setting the bar high when it comes to employee perks in South Africa.
