South African radio personality Anele Mdoda is no stranger to the spotlight, but this time, she found herself in hot water.
The star tried to dip her toes into the murky waters of politics by commenting on former President Jacob Zuma’s press conference, and let’s just say, things didn’t go as planned.

It didn’t take long for the Twitterverse to come alive, roasting Anele left, right, and center. One user, @_mashesha, commented, “Ngizwe Mchunu also addresses the nation from time to time.” Another, @amiembhele_, chimed in with, “DA did the same thing but y’all didn’t ask questions.”
The responses were a mix of schooling and pure roasting, showing no mercy for the radio personality.

Not everyone was throwing shade, though. Some followers had a bit more understanding. @kingdon_za stated, “He is addressing the nation through a press conference,” while @lifeofasigma had a different take, saying, “I believe anyone who has the nation’s attention can address the nation.”
@warlovestories summed it up by saying, “He has shown us that he can do whatever he wants. At this point, we have to just tune in.”
As of now, Anele hasn’t responded to the backlash. Whether she decides to defend her statement or let the storm pass remains to be seen.
