Elden Ring: Nightreign’s ‘The Forsaken Hollows’ DLC Arrives December With New Classes And Bosses

FromSoftware fans have reason to celebrate—Elden Ring: Nightreign, the co-op survival spin-off of the studio’s acclaimed open-world title, is finally receiving its first major DLC.

Titled The Forsaken Hollows, the expansion will be released on 4 December 2025, marking a significant update for the game.

While Nightreign has already seen smaller updates improving both solo and two-player modes—and even added the brutally challenging Deep of Night mode—this new content drop promises to be the biggest yet.

The announcement follows a period of uncertainty among players, who had grown restless after weeks without updates. Fans had spotted hints of new content during parent company Kadokawa’s latest earnings report, but many expected a 2026 release.

Elden Ring: A Darker World Awaits in The Forsaken Hollows

The reveal trailer showcases The Forsaken Hollows’ signature FromSoftware style—moody, unsettling environments paired with grotesque and beautifully designed enemies. Players can expect to explore a brand-new region steeped in mystery, where two powerful new bosses await.

Adding more depth to character progression, the DLC introduces two fresh classes. The Scholar, an arcane magic wielder, “gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation,” making it an appealing choice for strategic players.

Meanwhile, the Undertaker class focuses on faith and strength builds, ideal for those who prefer a more direct combat approach.

The DLC announcement may also ease tensions within the game’s community. Nightreign has recently faced review-bombing on Steam, with players voicing frustration over the lack of communication regarding future updates.

With The Forsaken Hollows now officially dated, excitement is expected to surge once again as players prepare to descend into the eerie new realm crafted by FromSoftware’s dark imagination.
