Ekurhuleni Deputy Principal Rushed To Hospital After Being Shot Outside School

The deputy principal of Dinoto Technical Secondary School in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, was rushed to hospital after being shot while entering the school premises.
Police have opened an investigation into a case of attempted murder, though no arrests have been reported so far.
The incident has caused a disruption to matric examinations at the school.

Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona expressed concern over the attack. “It is quite a concern that anyone would come to our space and want to harm our officials, so we just want to call upon law enforcement officials to apprehend the perpetrators so we can be happy,” Mabona said.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist with the investigation.

SurgeZirc SA learnt that officials are working to ensure the safety of staff and students following the attack. Police have increased their presence in the area while the investigation continues.
