EFF Dismisses Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Sidelining Claims As Conference Tensions Build

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has firmly denied reports suggesting that Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, a prominent member and former national spokesperson, has been sidelined from the party’s upcoming national conference in December.
This follows widespread speculation about Ndlozi’s potential exclusion from leadership discussions and rumours about internal divisions within the party.
EFF’s Response to Sidelining Allegations
Speaking at the Gauteng Provincial General Assembly, EFF Secretary-General Marshall Dlamini dismissed the claims as “misleading” and an attempt to detract from the party’s agenda. Dlamini stated:
“We have 2,500 delegates attending the conference. Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, as a member of the central command team, will certainly be present. These rumours are baseless and designed to defocus the party.”

Dlamini added that the party’s focus remains on ensuring a smooth and disciplined leadership election process, with strict guidelines prohibiting social media campaigning and unauthorised lobbying activities.
EFF leader Julius Malema has also weighed in on the matter, condemning the use of social media to promote specific candidates, including Ndlozi. Malema warned that any member engaging in activities undermining party unity would face disqualification from contesting leadership positions.
He stated: “Negative campaigning and leaking confidential information to the media are unacceptable. Members must discourage unauthorised lobbying and maintain the integrity of the organisation.”
Ndlozi Social Media Storm
Despite reassurances from the EFF leadership, rumours persist about Ndlozi’s future in the party. Much of the speculation stems from his wife, actress Mmabatho Montsho, who previously liked a social media post by former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu after Shivambu’s decision to join the MK Party.

This sparked controversy, with some suggesting it indicated a shift in Ndlozi’s loyalty. Malema previously criticised party members for failing to publicly disavow actions that could harm the EFF’s reputation.

While some factions within the EFF have expressed support for Ndlozi as a potential deputy president, he has not publicly confirmed his intentions. The party remains firm in its commitment to a transparent and unified conference process.
As December approaches, the EFF faces the challenge of balancing internal dynamics while presenting a cohesive front to its members and the public.
