Eastern Cape School Shooting: Teacher Killed, Two Educators Critically Injured In Ntabankulu

An educator has been killed and two others left fighting for their lives after a shooting at a school in Ntabankulu, Eastern Cape.

The incident unfolded at Ntabankulu Junior Secondary School, where a man armed with a firearm opened fire on educators during a meeting, according to local ward councillor Mlungisi Dinwayo, who was at the scene.

Dinwayo said the suspect was a former teacher at the school. One educator died at the scene, while the injured were rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

According to Dinwayo, the gunman arrived at the school and targeted educators who were gathered in a meeting. The incident caused panic among staff and the surrounding community.

Dinwayo further alleged that the suspect had previously been accused of raping children at the school.

Emergency services and police responded swiftly, securing the area as investigations began.

Police Secure Ntabankulu School as Investigation Continues

Authorities confirmed that the alleged perpetrator remained at the scene after the shooting, but it was not immediately clear whether he was dead or alive.
