Eastern Cape Police Hunt Killers After Mother And Daughter Shot In Their Home

Eastern Cape police have launched an intense manhunt following the horrific killing of a mother and her daughter in Dulasile, near the Nkondlo Administrative Area, on Friday night, April 11.

The victims, aged 38 and 19, were reportedly asleep in their homestead when unidentified assailants broke in and opened fire, fatally wounding both.

Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni confirmed that the assailants kicked down the door around 9pm and immediately began shooting.

“It is alleged that the victims were sleeping in their homestead when unknown men kicked down the door, and upon entering, they fired shots, killing both of them,” said Mdleleni.

The two women were declared dead at the scene.

Police have opened two murder cases and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to arrests.

Motive  Unknown

As at the moment of filing this report, the motive for the double murder remains unclear.

Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances behind the brutal attack.

“The motive for the killing is not yet established and forms part of the investigation,” Mdleleni added.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a targeted attack but are also considering other leads.

No arrests have been made, and the police urge anyone with information to come forward.

Six Arrested After Separate Fatal House Robbery In KwaMaqoma

In a related incident, six suspects were arrested on March 10 following the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Bulelani Dayile during a house robbery in KwaMaqoma township, Eastern Cape.

Police intercepted a Suzuki Ertiga matching the description of the suspects’ getaway vehicle on the N2 near Kinkelbos.

Inside the vehicle, officers discovered an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and a stolen cellphone believed to belong to the victim.

Dayile was shot dead while sitting in his kitchen after four armed men stormed into his home.

The suspects face multiple charges, including murder, house robbery, possession of stolen property, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The Police are calling on members of the public who may have information regarding either case to come forward.

Tip-offs can be shared anonymously and may help bring justice to the victims and their families.
