Durban Mother Shot Dead In Her Home — Children Find Her Body

A 34-year-old woman and mother of two was shot and killed at her home in Waterloo, north of Durban, on Friday afternoon.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) spokesperson Prem Balram said officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4.03pm following reports of a shooting.

“On arrival, reaction officers found the victim lying on the ground at the back of the premises. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to the face and another to the left shoulder and showed no signs of life. She was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Balram confirmed.

Children discover their mother’s body

According to Balram, the victim’s two children, aged 17 and 13, heard a loud noise shortly before finding their mother lying in a pool of blood behind the house.

The motive for the murder has not yet been established, and investigations are underway.
