Drunk Porsche Driver Crashes Into Traffic Car — Then Calls Another Drunk Friend For Help

A drunk Porsche driver slammed into a City of Cape Town traffic vehicle — then made things worse by calling a friend to the scene, who was also drunk.
The chaotic scene unfolded around 06:42 on Saturday, 8 November, when a Traffic Officer on patrol along FW de Klerk Boulevard noticed a Porsche Taycan speeding up behind him. As the officer switched lanes, the luxury car clipped his patrol vehicle and sped off.

After a high-speed chase, the officer managed to corner the driver near Century City.
The 25-year-old Porsche driver failed a breathalyser test, showing he was nearly three times over the legal limit.
He was arrested for drunken driving, reckless and negligent driving, fleeing an accident scene, disobeying a lawful instruction, and damaging council property.
The Porsche was impounded in terms of the City’s Traffic By-law.

In a bizarre twist, the suspect’s friend — also 25 — arrived at the scene to “help”, only to fail his own breathalyser test and get arrested too.
City Slams ‘Out-of-Control Supercar Drivers’
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security Alderman JP Smith said the incident mirrors a similar Porsche crash earlier this year.
“The audacity was at an all-time high — more proof that some supercar drivers are among our most problematic road users,” Smith said.
“I commend the officers for their perseverance and alertness. May the justice system dish up the punishment these men deserve.”
The pair were among 291 arrests made by City enforcement services in the past week.
