DJ Sumbody’s Family Welcomes Bail Denial For Alleged Killer, Katiso “Kt” Molefe

The Alexandra Magistrates Court has denied bail to Sandton businessman Katiso “Kt” Molefe, accused of masterminding the murder of popular musician DJ Sumbody, whose real name was Oupa Sefoka.

The court ruled that Molefe failed to prove exceptional circumstances to justify his release. He was arrested last month and later also linked to the murder of another artist, Hector “DJ Vintos” Buthelezi.

DJ Sumbody’s Family Applauds Court’s Decision

DJ Sumbody’s family has welcomed the ruling, describing it as a victory for justice and a powerful warning to those behind violent crimes. Their lawyer said the family feels encouraged that the justice system is holding suspects accountable.

“We are extremely happy about Molefe remaining behind bars,” the lawyer stated. “It’s sending a clear message to murderers to hire syndicates that there will be justice – there will be accountability.

“We are of the opinion that a lot more people will be able to come forward confidently, knowing that they themselves won’t be put at risk.”

Justice System Sends Strong Signal Against Violent Syndicates

The decision is being seen as a strong stand against organised crime in South Africa, ensuring that individuals accused of using wealth and influence to orchestrate killings cannot easily evade justice.
