Mzansi’s heart grew three sizes this week after it emerged that DJ Shimza stepped in with a massive R92,000 donation to help fellow producer DJ Chymamusique, who is still recovering from a horrific car accident that claimed the life of his friend and collaborator, DJ Poizen.

Chymamusique, who had just been discharged from Netcare following another brain surgery, turned to BackaBuddy to cover his mounting medical bills, daily expenses and upcoming treatment. And while fans and industry fam showed up, nobody expected one man to almost take the campaign across the finish line alone.

Well… enter Ashley Raphala — better known to South African streets as DJ Shimza.

And in true “bless-and-go” style, Shimza didn’t announce it, brag about it, or even drop a heart emoji — he left zero breadcrumbs. No flex, no interview, no “look at me being generous.”

His emotional message read: “Monthly liabilities off my shoulders until the end of January… God indeed used people.”
