The Custody Battle: Denise Zimba Fights for Her Daughters

Denise and Jakob moved to Germany in 2022 after their wedding. However, after giving birth to their second child, Denise returned to South Africa, choosing to stay in Cape Town with their daughters due to ongoing marital disputes.

Initially, Jakob agreed to this arrangement and returned to Germany. However, he later filed a Hague Convention case, accusing Denise of unlawfully retaining the children, setting off a long and painful legal battle.

Betrayal: Denise’s Best Friend Had an Affair with Her Husband

Denise had previously revealed that her ex-husband cheated on her with her childhood best friend, Mpumi Mdluli, whom she had known since they were 14 years old.

“Nothing worse than finding out your best friend since you were 14 years old has been having an affair with your husband,” she wrote on X (Twitter), explaining how Mpumi’s sudden distance during her pregnancy now made sense.

Following the split, Denise deleted all photos and videos of her wedding day and ex-husband from her social media.

Denise Adjusts to Single Motherhood

Although the court ruling was devastating, Denise hinted at her new reality in March when she called herself a single mother on Instagram.

She shared a heartfelt moment with her daughters on the beach, captioning the post:

“Had such a good time with my girls in the sun today. Getting a hang of this single parenting. Just us three.”
