Decomposed Body Found In Palmview KZN Reported Four Days After Discovery

A disturbing discovery was made in Palmview, KwaZulu-Natal, after a destitute woman standing at the R102/Palmview intersection alerted authorities to a decomposing body on Monday afternoon.

The woman flagged down a marked Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) response vehicle at 13:05, explaining that she had found the body days earlier, on Friday, 29 August 2025.

According to her, the body was lying in thick bush below road level.

Palmview, KZN: Police Allegedly Failed to Act After Being Alerted

The woman further revealed that she had attempted to alert South African Police Services (SAPS) officers twice before, on separate occasions.

“She added that since the body was recovered, she had stopped two (2) South African Police Services (SAPS) vehicles at different times. The Police vehicles then left advising that they would get other Officers to attend. They failed to return to the scene,” RUSA reported.

RUSA Reaction Officers conducted a search of the area and eventually located the body in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The deceased, whose identity remains unknown, was found lying face up in dense bushland. He was dressed in a maroon t-shirt, black shorts, and black socks.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are currently ongoing.
