Deadly Shootings Leaves Three Wounded One Dead

Deadly shootings in the Kaap region on Tuesday night have left a family of three injured and a 21-year-old man dead.
The incidents occurred in Rylands and Overcome Heights, with the gunmen still at large.

Family Of Three Shot In Rylands
On March 25, 2025, Athlone police responded to a shooting in Mohan Street, Rylands, also known as Pookse Bos.
Three people, believed to be a 47-year-old woman and two men aged 16 and 48, were shot and wounded.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the attack was classified as attempted murder.
The victims were rushed to a medical facility for treatment, while the gunmen fled the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the suspects are yet to be apprehended.
21-Year-Old Dead, Four Injured In Overcome Heights Shooting
In a separate incident just after 10:15 PM on the same day, police found the body of a 21-year-old man in Mountain Road, Overcome Heights, near Lavender Hill.
The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the scene.

Four other individuals, who also sustained gunshot wounds, were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The attack is believed to be gang-related, and Muizenberg police are investigating it as a case of murder and four counts of attempted murder.
The suspects in this incident are still on the run.
Investigation Underway In Both Incidents
Both shooting cases remain under investigation.
