Dali Mpofu’s 23-Year-Old Son Arrested For Kidnapping And Assault

Letsema Mpofu, the 23-year-old son of MK Party senior member Dali Mpofu, has been arrested for kidnapping and assault after allegedly detaining his girlfriend against her will at his residence in Parkwood, Johannesburg.

Girlfriend’s Escape Leads to Arrest

According to reports, the woman visited Mpofu’s son on February 19, 2025, but was allegedly prevented from leaving. He also reportedly forcefully took her phone.

At approximately 1:00 AM on February 20, the woman managed to escape and was assisted by complex security, who took her to the police station to open a case of common law assault and kidnapping.

Mpofu’s son was subsequently arrested and remains in custody ahead of his court appearance tomorrow.

Controversial Family History

This arrest comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Dali Mpofu himself. Just months ago, Mpofu allegedly used a court order to evict his wife’s elderly and sickly sister, sparking criticism over his actions.
