Dangerous Criminal Apprehended After Attempting To Execute Witnesses
A 32-year-old man was apprehended in Trenance Park, KZN, after attempting to execute the victims and witnesses of a brutal attack that occurred on Saturday.
The suspect had stabbed three people, including a pensioner, and attempted to set their home on fire.

He returned to the scene on Monday, 24 March 2025, where he was apprehended, armed with a panga, and was met with resistance from male residents who pelted him with stones and assaulted him with sticks.
Brutal Attack And Attempted Arson
The suspect’s violent rampage began on Saturday when he stabbed a 29-year-old woman in the back and repeatedly stabbed her grandmother.

A Security Officer who attempted to intervene was critically injured. The suspect also poured petrol over furniture and attempted to set the home ablaze before fleeing the scene.
Suspect’s Motive And History

The suspect’s motive for the attack is still unclear, but his brother revealed that he had a history of violent behavior, including setting a home in Chatsworth, KZN, ablaze.
The suspect has been handed over to Detectives from the Verulam SAPS, and his brother confirmed that he has no history of mental illness.
