The Gauteng police spokesperson, Lt-Col Mavela Masondo, stated that an inquest docket has been opened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

“The 23-year-old police officer was rushed to the nearest medical care centre where he was certified dead on arrival,” Masondo confirmed. Although the spokesperson could not verify the presence of a note, he emphasized that it would be an integral part of the investigation.
