Convicted Murderer Sandile Mantsoe Bags Another 36-year In Prison For Fraud

Sandile Mantsoe, already serving a 32-year sentence for the 2017 murder of his then-girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, has been sentenced to an additional 15 years in prison for fraud.
This recent conviction pertains to a fake investment scheme he operated in Mpumalanga in 2016.
Mantsoe was the sole owner of the Trillion Dollar Legacy investment scheme, which promised substantial returns to its investors.
According to the Hawks, Mantsoe defrauded around 120 investors, most of whom were public servants, by convincing them to invest over R2 million.
However, he failed to deliver the promised returns, resulting in one of the victims reporting the matter to the police.
The Evander Magistrate’s Court handed down the 15-year sentence on Tuesday. In addition, Mantsoe’s company was fined approximately R1.6 million, which has been suspended for five years on each charge.
Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson Lucy Sekgotodi confirmed, “The effective imprisonment for accused two (Mantsoe) is, therefore, 15 years direct imprisonment.” The new sentence will run concurrently with his existing 32-year sentence for murder.
