The incident has reignited concerns over the aggressive driving tactics employed by Checkers Sixty60 drivers under pressure to meet their 60-minute delivery promise.

Previous reports include a fatal collision with a police vehicle in June 2025, alongside frequent near-misses highlighted on public forums.

Social Media Reacts to Delivery Bike Recklessness

Social media users expressed a mix of outrage and debate over responsibility:

@naomi_wonders: “Honestly, these Checkers 60/60 drivers are out of control! Every day they’re speeding, overtaking on blind corners, and risking lives all because of this ridiculous 60-minute pressure. Someone’s groceries aren’t more important than people’s safety.”

@shipinaport: “The riders need to take personal responsibility. The 60-minute promise obviously plays a role but it doesn’t excuse reckless behaviour. Recklessness abounds but there’s always someone else to blame.”

@sliq_ent: “I don’t see how he was reckless when he was trying to speed past this guy who didn’t indicate. And why didn’t he slow down if he was going to enter on the right and check his mirror?”

@tlotlisopraise: “The vehicle driver could at least have hooted to alert the TLB. It’s not his responsibility, but he could have saved a life.”

@thabs6348905: “Speed kills. TLB did nothing wrong… Some delivery drivers even ride on pavements to beat robots.”

Checkers 60/60 Under Fire

This latest incident adds to growing scrutiny of Checkers Sixty60 operations, with critics arguing that the 60-minute delivery pressure encourages risky driving behaviour. Calls are increasing for stricter safety protocols, driver accountability, and public awareness campaigns to prevent further accidents.
