According to him, he’s the real mastermind behind the worldwide hit, and he’s not letting it slide quietly.

“I Made That Beat!” – Charmza Drops the Bomb

In a spicy court filing dropped at the Pretoria High Court, music producer Charmza—real name Ntimela Chris Chauke—claims he composed the beat, melody, and structure of Jerusalema on August 19, 2019, right inside Master KG’s studio in Midrand.

And here’s the tea: Charmza says Master KG wasn’t even there!

He claims it was just him and Nomcebo Zikode vibing in the studio, cooking what would become a global anthem without any contracts or paperwork to protect him.

 Lawsuit and Serious Allegations

Charmza, joined by artist Biblos, is taking on not just Master KG, but also Open Mic Productions, Africori, and Biblos himself (yup, it’s messy).

The lawsuit, filed in 2022, is now heating up with a trial set for November 2025. Charmza estimates the damages could be worth over R100 million!

Open Mic and Master KG have clapped back, calling the claims “baseless, defamatory, and vexatious.”

Charmza says his life’s in danger—he’s reportedly gone into hiding after his father and sibling were gunned down in what he suspects may be tied to this drama.

His legal rep, Stephen Hollis, says this case is exposing the rot in SA’s music industry, where upcoming producers are often sidelined and silenced.

From viral dance anthem to a courtroom thriller, the Jerusalema saga is hitting notes we never saw coming.

Stay tuned, Mzansi—this beat battle’s just getting started.
