Matlala, who remains behind bars at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Facility in Pretoria, is scheduled to appear before the committee this week — but his team is fighting to push the date back.
Urgent Court Threat as Police Corruption Inquiry Looms
The legal team has issued a clear ultimatum: if they do not receive a “response and written undertaking” from committee chairperson Soviet Lekganyane by 3pm on Tuesday, they will file an urgent court application to postpone proceedings.
They want the appearance halted until they’ve completed full consultations with Matlala, who is considered a key figure in the ongoing police corruption inquiry.
