Cassper Nyovest Blasts Uber Eats After Driver Allegedly Steals His Expensive Birthday Gift

South African rap superstar Cassper Nyovest is fuming after what was supposed to be a thoughtful gesture turned into a nightmare. The “Doc Shebeleza” hitmaker revealed that an Uber Eats courier allegedly stole an expensive birthday gift he had sent to a friend.

The incident unfolded on Monday, 22 September, when Cassper took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent his frustration, even naming the driver involved.

“@Uber_RSA @UberEats Uber has become such complete rubbish !!!! Yesterday I tried to send a gift to one of my friends through Uber courier and the driver decided to steal the gift and report that he returned to me!!!” Cassper raged in his post.

Screenshots shared by the rapper show his unsuccessful attempts to get help from Uber via email. He further blasted the platform for failing to take accountability.

“Such an expensive gift, ruined my day and ruined the gesture for my friend cause he was so excited!!! I never use Uber courier again!!!! This happens after they have stolen food sooo many times !!! Such rubbish!!!!” Cassper added.

The post instantly went viral, sparking a flood of comments from fans who related to his anger.

One user, @kaMalambule, shared: “Uber doesn’t care much when these guys do this. Once a chap tried this and the next day he found me waiting for him outside his house. The shock in his face was outstanding.”

Another, @lorrenzom, echoed the frustration: “They do this all the time and most of them don’t even use their real names. Uber doesn’t even have a customer care line because they are avoiding accountability.”

South Africans feel Uber Eats is failing its customers. Many demanded stricter measures to hold drivers accountable.
