Shock At Capitec Stanger: Family Brings Body To Bank In Alleged Funeral Policy Dispute

Customers and staff were left stunned after a family allegedly brought the body of a deceased relative into a branch of Capitec Bank in Stanger on Wednesday, reportedly in a bid to resolve a funeral policy dispute.
The incident caused widespread disruption and led to the temporary closure of the branch as security intervened.
Nikesh Hooblall, owner of Taurus Medical and Security, said he responded after receiving a group WhatsApp message alerting him to a body inside the bank.
“When I arrived, there was a lot of commotion. The family stood outside talking to officials, while security cordoned off the bank. The deceased was in a body bag on the floor inside the bank. It seemed there was a dispute over a funeral policy,” said Hooblall.
