Cape West Coast Community Joins Forces In Search For Missing Six-Year-Old

Residents from across the Cape West Coast have united in a determined effort to find a missing six-year-old girl from Saldanha Bay. Joshlin Smith was reported missing on Tuesday, and the search for her has intensified since then.

According to the police, Joshlin was under the care of her mother’s boyfriend, who was unable to provide any information about her whereabouts when questioned. Witnesses reported that she was last seen near the Diazville Clinic on Monday afternoon in the company of a young boy.

The town’s mayor, Andre Truter, expressed his gratitude for the community’s support in the search. Over 200 volunteers from the community, along with the West Coast District Municipality, law enforcement agencies, and disaster management teams, have been involved in the search efforts. They have covered extensive areas, including the Saldanha sewage pipeline and neighbouring towns.

The search operation has been further strengthened with the deployment of aerial resources, including helicopters, and additional volunteers. The community’s dedication and commitment to finding Joshlin have been commendable.
