Cape Town Police Launch Probe After Fatal Goodwood Shooting Leaves One Dead And Four Injured

Police in Cape Town have launched an investigation after a deadly shooting in Goodwood on Sunday afternoon left one person dead and four others wounded.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in Van Riebeek Road, where they discovered four men suffering from gunshot wounds. A 20-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.

The three surviving victims, all in their twenties, were rushed to hospital for medical treatment as police cordoned off the area.

Anti-Gang Unit Takes Over Murder and Attempted Murder Cases

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg confirmed that Anti-Gang Unit detectives are handling the investigation.

He said, “Anti-Gang Unit detectives are investigating murder and attempted murder cases. Anyone with any information about this shooting incident can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the mobile application MySAPS anonymously.”

Cape Town: Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Intensifies

Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward, stressing that anonymous tip-offs through Crime Stop or the MySAPS app are welcome as efforts continue to trace those responsible.
