Businessman Gunned Down In Bolobedu Supermarket Attack

A 39-year-old foreign national, believed to be a local businessman, was shot and killed inside a supermarket in the Bolobedu policing area in Limpopo on Monday morning, 23 February 2026.

The victim was inside a shop at a shopping complex shortly after 10:00 when two armed men allegedly opened fire. He was reportedly accompanied by friends at the time of the deadly attack.

Police were notified of the shooting and immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene. Paramedics assessed the victim but declared him dead on arrival.

Authorities cordoned off the area as investigators began processing the crime scene.

Armed Suspects Storm Shop and Flee in White Ford Fiesta

Preliminary findings indicate that two unidentified men entered the shop armed with a firearm. Without speaking, they allegedly shot the victim before making a swift escape.

The suspects reportedly fled the shopping complex in a white Ford Fiesta bearing an unknown Gauteng registration number.

Police believe the attack was targeted, though the exact circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear.

The motive for the shooting has not yet been established. A manhunt is underway for the two suspects. Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could assist in tracking them down.
