Bushiri Slams NPA’s Decision To Auction His 50 Million Private Jet

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has lashed out at the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) following its decision to auction off his R50 million private jet, calling the move unjust, politically motivated, and disconnected from the legal facts.

The jet is being sold as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial crimes — charges Bushiri insists have already been dismissed by Malawian courts.

‘Charges Were Dismissed – Why Sell My Jet?’

In a public statement, Bushiri expressed shock and disbelief at the NPA’s decision to sell the aircraft, questioning the legitimacy of the move given that the “case was removed from the court list” in Malawi.

“I find it perplexing that the NPA would proceed with such drastic measures when the allegations had been deemed baseless by a competent legal authority,” Bushiri said.

He explained that the case originated from a forex investment platform that had been introduced to his church. When the platform collapsed, many members lost money — but Bushiri says he stepped in to help.

“In an act of goodwill, I personally reimbursed the victims to the tune of over R70 million,” he said, adding that this gesture has been “ignored by both the media and the authorities.”

Accusations of Police Extortion and Targeted Prosecution

Bushiri didn’t stop there — he launched serious allegations against the South African law enforcement system. He claims the same officers who initially arrested him on now-dismissed money laundering charges are again involved in this matter — and have a track record of corruption.

“These officers extorted me for R12 million. I reported them to the South African Rights Commission, the President of the Hawks, and other state institutions. But to this day, no action has been taken,” Bushiri said.

He believes the focus on auctioning his assets, rather than pursuing those who created the failed forex scheme, points to a personal vendetta and systemic bias against foreigners.

‘I Will Not Be Intimidated’ – Bushiri Vows to Fight On

In his closing remarks, Bushiri called on the NPA to reconsider its actions and assess the full facts of the case rather than fixate on seizing assets.

“The decision to sell my jet raises serious questions about the impartiality of the South African justice system,” he said.

Bushiri insisted that the jet auction would not silence him. “Money will not make my legal troubles disappear,” he said defiantly, adding that he remains committed to exposing injustice and defending his name.
