55 Year Old Bus Driver To Face Court On Sexual Assault Charges

A 55-year-old bus driver is set to appear in the Piketberg Magistrates’ Court on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old school pupil.
The incident occurred on March 27, 2025, at a farm near Piketberg, sparking concerns about the safety of school children.

The victim reported the incident to her teachers, who provided immediate support and guidance.
School And Authorities Respond Promptly
The school followed the Abuse No More protocol, reporting the matter to the district social worker and encouraging the parents to open a case with the South African Police Service (SAPS).

The bus company was also contacted to replace the driver.
