North-West businessman Brown Mogotsi has spoken out about the alleged attempt on his life in Vosloorus, Gauteng, sharing new details while testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.

Mogotsi survived the incident earlier this month when gunmen allegedly opened fire on his vehicle in Ekurhuleni, leaving it riddled with bullets.

He is currently facing cross-examination from evidence leader Matthew Chaskalson, who questioned aspects of his account as Mogotsi detailed the ordeal.

Mogotsi Recounts Terrifying Moment of Gunfire

Mogotsi rejected suggestions that he exaggerated his movements during the shooting, insisting he survived purely by chance.

“Because people thought I’m a superman, I’m trying to lie that I was moving like this inside, in the riddle of bullets. Whereas, by luck, I don’t know what happened.

“It was only one shot because those people followed me for so long. I thought they could not find me. When they saw my car, they fired a shot.”

Businessman Explains How He Managed to Flee Attackers

Describing how he escaped, Mogotsi said he seized the moment when the attackers briefly drove past his vehicle.

“I managed to drive because they were driving at the speed, turned left on that particular street. Fortunately, they passed to go and make a U-turn. That’s when I ran for my life.”
