The community of Maubane has been left in shock after the brutal killing of a young woman, Kgaogelo Nnonu, outside Dubai Tavern on Thursday morning, 21 August 2025, by her boyfriend, identified as Mfana Ngwenya.

According to reports, Kgaogelo was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend, who fled the scene immediately after the attack. Witnesses described the incident as horrifying, sparking outrage and grief within the community as the lifeless girl was seen lying on the ground.

Boyfriend Posts Chilling Confession Online

Mfana Ngwenya later confessed to the crime on social media, posting a detailed explanation of why he killed Kgaogelo. The posts quickly spread online, leaving the public enraged and demanding swift justice.

Community members have expressed their devastation, remembering Kgaogelo as a vibrant and loving young woman whose life was tragically cut short in yet another act of gender-based violence.

The Makapanstad SAPS has not yet released an official statement, and it remains unclear whether the suspect has been arrested or if an arrest warrant has been issued.
