Boity Thulo’s R4 Million Centurion Property At The Centre Of Shock Legal Battle

Let’s rewind to 2021 when our girl Boity celebrated the purchase of her stunning R4 million home in the very upmarket Carlswald North Lifestyle Estate in Centurion — and honestly, the celebration was well deserved!

We are talking about an estate with nearly 700 homes, lush landscaped gardens, indigenous trees, and recreational facilities that make ordinary people weep with envy. Properties there range from R1.7 million flats all the way up to palatial R5 million plus houses. Boity was that girl and she wanted the world to know it!

Fast forward to 2026 and the picture is looking significantly less celebratory. Leemark Financial Service, the company that financed the property, filed an application for default judgment in the Johannesburg High Court on April 24, alleging that Boity failed to file a notice to defend their lawsuit. Iyoh, and just like that the dream home situation got very complicated very fast!

According to court papers, the outstanding balance allegedly owed sits at R491,813 — and before anyone does the quick maths, yes Boity has already paid approximately R3.7 million towards the debt. So this is not a case of someone who never paid — this is allegedly the final stretch that has somehow gone sideways and ended up in front of a judge!

Boity Thulo Legal Battle 2026: Lawyers Say The Case Is “Fatally Flawed” As Pressure Mounts

Now before we all spiral completely, Boity’s legal team is not sitting quietly in the corner! Her lawyer Modise Sefume came out swinging, describing the application as “fatally defective” and confirming that the matter would be “settled in due course.”

He also pointed out that the seller’s representatives failed to meaningfully engage with them before things escalated to this level — which is a very important detail that the court papers conveniently left out!

But here is the part that has Mzansi genuinely unsettled — the finance company is not just going after the property. They are also seeking legal costs and the default judgment could potentially expose Boity’s other assets to a writ of execution.

Meaning if this goes the wrong way, the luxury home drama could spill over into other areas of her financial life. And that, babies, is where it gets seriously serious!

The court application states rather coldly that “the time for entering appearance to defend having expired, and Thulo not having entered an appearance to defend, judgment should be given against her as claimed in the summons.”

Legal language is always cold but that particular sentence hit different when attached to someone whose brand is built on aspirational living! And speaking of aspirational living — the timing of all this could not be more dramatic if it tried!

While these court papers were being filed, Boity was simultaneously posting gorgeous tropical content from Mauritius, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters included, and documenting her solo self-care retreat in Dubai complete with a chic cabana moment at Verde Beach.

The internet has been living for the content — but now that same content is sitting next to court documents and the juxtaposition is making people very uncomfortable indeed!
