Bloemfontein Bloodbath: Naked Man Found With Human Head After Brutal Killing

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after police made a shocking discovery in Bloemfontein’s Central Park area on Sunday afternoon, following reports of suspicious behaviour near a stormwater drain.

Bloemfontein Central Park Horror Unfolds

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thabo Covane confirmed that officers from Thabure-Parkweg police station responded to reports at around 3pm of a man inside a drainage tunnel beneath the Central Park Complex.

“Members reacted swiftly, and an African male was found laying naked in the stream with the skull in his hands and was immediately placed under arrest,” Covane said.

Beheaded Body Found Near N8 National Road

The situation escalated after police received further information about a violent attack in the same vicinity. Officers conducted a detailed search along the stream after learning that an unknown man had assaulted another person.

The search led police to Nathan Street in the Old East End area, alongside the N8 national road, where a disturbing scene was uncovered.

According to Covane, officers discovered a large rock covered in bone fragments, flesh and brain matter. “Further search led to the discovery of a beheaded body in the stream not far from where the rock, bone fragments and flesh were found,” he said.

Suspect Claims He Is ‘The Messiah’

During his arrest, the suspect allegedly made a chilling declaration to police. “The suspect uttered to the police that he had to kill the victim to prove that he is ‘the messiah’,” Covane said.

Police have since opened a murder case at Heidedal police station, along with an additional charge of violation of a corpse.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
