Former beauty queen and TV icon Basetsana Kumalo is stepping down as the CEO of Connect Channel (Pty) Ltd. This digital content and TV production company, known for hits like Our Perfect Wedding and Date My Family, has been a major player in producing culturally relevant reality shows.

Passing the Torch

Basetsana took to social media to announce that Kopano Cowen, her mentee of the past 10 years, will be taking over as CEO. Kopano, who has an LLB degree, has grown from a production intern to an executive producer. She recently completed her postgraduate degree in business administration, making her the perfect successor.
