South African content creator and reality TV personality Ash-ley Ogle made a memorable appearance at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held in Lagos, Nigeria, on Saturday, 9 May 2026.

The annual event, hosted at the Exhibition Centre of the Eko Hotel & Suites in partnership with Canal+, celebrates excellence in African television and film and regularly attracts some of the continent’s biggest entertainment stars.

Ash-ley documented her experience throughout the glamorous evening on Instagram, sharing a series of striking fashion moments and heartfelt reflections from her first visit to Nigeria.

For her first appearance at the prestigious awards ceremony, Ash-ley stepped onto the red carpet in a dramatic red gown designed by Estaz Bridal.

Sharing images of the elegant outfit online, she wrote: “First time in Nigeria, and I couldn’t just show up… I had to embody the beauty, boldness, and creativity l’ve felt since landing. Tonight’s look? Soft, regal, and unforgettable… every detail understood the assignment. So be honest, what Nigerian name are we giving me?”

The designers behind the dress also shared the inspiration for the eye-catching ensemble.

They explained: “We created a striking red piece designed to command attention from every angle. Bold in presence, unforgettable in detail, and impossible to ignore the moment she stepped onto the carpet. Because at Estaz, we believe fashion should make a statement before you even speak. And this look said everything.”

Later in the evening, Ash-ley returned in a completely different outfit — a brown-and-white cow print dress inspired by African heritage and culture.

Alongside photos of the second look, she opened up about her journey and what the Nigerian experience meant to her.

“I’m just a girl from a gully in KZN-South Africa. Richly blessed in assorted roots. Tonight I get to experience some of those roots in Nigeria through entertainment and our African superstars, preparing me to be one,” she wrote.

She added: “Impilo enhle, inhliziyo enhle. This dress embodies beauty, strength and resilience of a woman.”
