Asavela Mqokiyana Breaks Silence on Divorce
Back in September 2024, Mzansi was shaken when Asavela posted photos of herself leaving court, dressed in all black, confirming that her marriage to Vuyisa Mqokiyana, the father of her daughter, had ended.
On the podcast episode released on Sunday, 17 August 2025, Asavela revealed that she and her ex-husband divorced while their baby girl was just six months old.

The actress opened up about motherhood, navigating divorce in the public eye, and dealing with negativity on social media.
“It was hard, but I had to choose myself and my daughter. Sometimes people stay in toxic marriages, but I couldn’t do that,” she shared in the heartfelt interview.
