Armed Robbery Duo Nabbed In Alberton As Police Recover Gun, Drugs And Stolen Goods

Two suspects have been arrested in Alberton following a series of street robberies that took place in General Alberts Park and Mayberry Park.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Alberton apprehended a man and a woman on Saturday, 11 April, after investigations linked them to the incidents.
Alberton Security Teams Help Track Down Suspects’ Vehicle
Private security companies CPS Security and React 24 played a key role in the operation, tracking the suspects’ vehicle to a property in the area.
Police moved in on the location, where the suspects were found and taken into custody without incident.

Firearm, Drugs and Stolen Items Recovered
During the arrest, officers recovered a firearm as well as Mandrax narcotics.
Further investigation led authorities to a local pawn shop, where stolen items, including cellphones, were traced and successfully retrieved.
The suspects, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, are expected to appear in court soon. They face charges of armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and drug-related offences.
