A post circulating online quoted Cyan with the line “Kodwa indoda ngiyithathile”, which fuelled the idea that the two are fighting over the same man. Then MaWhoo claimed on Instagram that a man bought her three properties in cash, with no bank financing and the title deeds in her name. That is when the speculation went into overdrive.

Some fans have floated the name Kagiso Lerutla, who was arrested earlier in 2026 on fraud charges. The Special Investigating Unit has reportedly said it is not probing the women.

On 19 October, X user @lepara_10 tagged the @RSASIU account. The post alleged that a former Ekurhuleni CFO, now the City Manager and reportedly earning R4.8 million a year, bought three properties in cash for MaWhoo, whom it identified as Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema. The post asked where that kind of cash came from, but it is an allegation from one user and nothing more.

Sharp-eyed fans noticed that MaWhoo had previously said she was building her own house, which sits awkwardly next to the “bought for me in cash” story. Her sister Amahle has also been pulled into the conversation. Hayibo, the timeline has receipts, screenshots and a very long memory.
