Another Ekurhuleni Official Nabbed After Julius Mkhwanazi Arrest

A fresh arrest has intensified the growing corruption scandal within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, just a day after the detention of suspended Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi.
Police confirmed that a 40-year-old senior municipal official was taken into custody in Johannesburg on Sunday.
Fraud and Corruption Charges Mount Against Ekurhuleni Officials
Authorities revealed that the suspect faces multiple charges, including fraud, corruption, and defeating or obstructing the ends of justice — the same allegations levelled against Mkhwanazi.
“These arrests emanate from an ongoing investigation into corruption within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality,” police said.
