One Dead, Another Critically Injured In Verulam Car Wash Shooting

A shooting at a car wash in Grangetown, Verulam (KZN) on Friday afternoon has left one man dead and another critically injured.

This incident has prompted swift response and ongoing investigations by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and local authorities.

The incident which left one dead and another critically injured unfolded on High Street, where two men were reportedly at the premises having their vehicle washed.

Eyewitnesses say a gunman opened fire without warning, targeting the two individuals.

Victims Shot At Close Range

According to RUSA spokespersons, multiple emergency calls were received reporting the shooting in progress.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived to find one man fatally shot in the head, while the second victim who is critically injured, sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and hand.

Paramedics treated the injured man on scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The deceased was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Suspects Allegedly Known to Victims

Initial information suggests that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute between the victims and the suspects, who were reportedly known to them.
