She is funny, she is sharp, she is beloved. But right now? The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration has entered the chat, and it’s all thanks to her house helper.

According to reports, Anele and her former domestic worker, Thuleleni Florence Mlalazi, ended up at the CCMA over two very messy disputes — an unfair dismissal claim and a car ownership battle.

The CCMA Settlement and Anele Mdoda’s R90,000 Obligation

Let us walk you through the receipts, because there are several. The two parties reportedly reached a settlement agreement in August 2025 — with Anele on the hook for R90,000 to Florence.

Florence claims that when she started working for the Mgudlwas, she was already a car owner. She was allegedly persuaded to trade in her vehicle for an Audi A3, with the repayments deducted directly from her salary.

Then — and this is the part that has people raising their eyebrows to the ceiling — she was reportedly asked to trade that Audi in for a VW Polo. And when all was said and done? That Polo was allegedly registered under Anele’s name. Not Florence’s. Iyoh!

Florence claims Anele’s husband, Prince Bonelela Buzza James — who is a lawyer, by the way — was driving the Polo and reportedly not refuelling it. When she raised the issue, she was allegedly told the car belonged to “the company.” An Uber was arranged for her instead. We cannot make this up.

Then there is the dismissal itself. Florence was reportedly fired not by Anele, but by her husband Bonelela — allegedly because Florence did not fetch her boss’s child from a soccer tournament on her day off.

Florence says she did eventually go and get the child, but tensions boiled over. She reportedly expressed her frustration openly, and that is when things went south fast.

Let us sit with this for a second: fired on your day off, for a task that was not yours to complete, by your employer’s husband — not your actual employer. And your car, which you paid for out of your own salary, is now registered in someone else’s name. Hmmm….

Anele, for her part, has not been fully silent. She reportedly confirmed the incident but fired back with heavy allegations of her own — accusing Florence of theft, extortion and making threats, and insisting the dismissal was justified due to misconduct. The plot, as they say, thickens.

Bonelela Mgudlwa — Anele’s lawyer husband — reportedly has his own legal matters involving the Special Investigating Unit (SIU). So this is not a household where legal drama is new.
