Anele Mdoda Sparks Engagement Rumours At The Oscars

Anele Mdoda’s attendance at the 97th Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday has set the internet abuzz, thanks to a sparkly diamond ring on her left hand.

The media personality, who co-produced a short film titled The Last Ranger, walked the Oscars red carpet in a stunning Xhosa-inspired red and black dress designed by Asanda Madyibi.

A Regal Red Carpet Appearance

Mdoda’s dress was a showstopper, with many complimenting her on the traditional Xhosa aesthetic.

“The Last Ranger is the first Xhosa anything to be nominated for an Oscar so I thought it fitting to rock Xhosa aesthetic.

“Umbhaco Xhosa traditional wear and as you can see, it’s worldly and, most importantly, regal,” she captioned her Instagram post.

 

The dress was indeed a highlight of the evening, but it was the diamond ring on her ring finger that sparked questions about her relationship status.

A Ring and a Hint at Marriage

During her appearance on Lasizwe Dambuza’s Awkward Dates on YouTube, Mdoda was asked about the ring, to which she responded, “Cause I’m married”.

The comment has left many wondering if she’s indeed tied the knot. While Mdoda hasn’t made an official announcement, the ring and her hint at marriage have certainly sparked excitement among her fans.
