Amalia Woman Found Dead As Boyfriend Gets Arrested After Pointing Out Body

Police in North West have arrested the boyfriend of Kedisaletse Audrey Ditire (52) after he led officers to her decomposed body on a farm in Amalia. The shocking discovery was made on Thursday, 21 August 2025, by the Anti-Gang Unit.

Ditire was last seen on 29 May 2025 when she visited her boyfriend, who worked at the farm near the R506 road between Amalia and Christiana, close to Kgwejana Farm. She was reportedly on her way to a local store but never returned home.

Her boyfriend reported her missing on 7 June 2025, more than a week after she vanished.

Suspect in Custody and Facing Murder Charge

Following investigations, the 50-year-old suspect was initially arrested for contravention of section 49 of the Immigration Act, 2002, and remanded in custody. After pointing out the location of Ditire’s remains, the case escalated.

The suspect is now facing a murder charge and is expected to appear before the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 August 2025.

Reacting to the arrest, Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Maj Gen Patrick Asaneng, condemned the brutal killing.

He said: “The arrest of the suspect and the discovery of the mortal remains of the deceased while commended and welcomed, it is yet another painful reminder of the brutality and barbaric violence that defenceless women are subjected to by men who are supposed to be their protectors.

“It is hoped that this arrest will bring some comfort and closure to the family who for a long time didn’t know what could have happened to their loved one.”

Police have urged communities to continue working with authorities in the fight against gender-based violence, which continues to devastate families and communities across South Africa.
